EVALUATION
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Researching the various fashion documentaries was interesting,as i had always watched them my self, and they are some of the most popular seen on the television at the moment. With examples like; 'Gok's fashion fix' and 'What not to wear'.And watching them inspired me to make my own in the style to 'Gok's fashion fix'.When making are own fashion documentary (Quick Fashion) we made sure that the presenter was chatty, friendly,a person to be made over,we also knew we wanted some studio style shots of the person being made over (Janice) showing her in before and after stages, and lots of upbeat pop music to keep it fun and entertaining, just like in past fashion documentaries.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
Our final outcome (Quick Fashion) matches the ancillary texts fairly well.My draft of the poster turned out very similar to the one I produced on photoshop. The storyboard has most of shots that match, and some are near enough the same. The combinations work well as I knew I wanted the outcomes of the ancillary texts to be bright and colourful, and I wanted the poster pictures to be shot in a studio, this also relates to the end of 'Quick Fashion' where we see 'Janice' in her 'New looks'.
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
Audience feedback through the questionnaire helped me to create 'Quick Fashion'.Using the results I found out that mainly women watch fashion documentaries and that most read fashion magazines, and are interested in taking part in a fashion documentary. Also I had to make sure we had fashion knowledge within the five minute clip, because the questionnaire results showed that that's what most people want from a presenter from a fashion documentary.Furthermore I uploaded 'Quick Fashion' onto YouTube and got many positive comments, however some showed us how we can improve on things, for example the ending needed a few bits cut out,and also at first the clip was over the time limit at seven minutes,so I had to cut it down to five minutes, the clip has now been taken of YouTube, now that i reviewed the comments.
How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
In making 'Quick Fashion' I used new media technologies in the forms of; photoshop, apple mac's and using a blog (blogspot).Firstly editing the clip was difficult at first because I had never used apple mac's before, however as I continued to work i found that I understood it more and more, and now feel confident in using editing technologies.I had also never used photoshop before, which was fun learning how to manipulate photo's and experiment with fonts and different texts. And lastly using a blog was much easier than I thought it would be,and is a very useful way of storing information, which I would definitely consider using again in another school subject.
In conclusion the overall experience of making 'Quick Fashion', and also researching the documentaries was very interesting and fun,and enjoyed watching various documentaries.Furthermore I feel proud of the final outcome of 'Quick Fashion' because it shares aspects to other fashion documentaries like 'Gok's Fashion Fix'.
